Located close enough to Kaohsiung city’s bustling and prosperous commercial center, Cheng Shiu University (CSU) is a place of learning, discovery, and innovation to enable close collaboration with industry and government, offering a high-quality academic experience for students. Founded in 1965, CSU has contributed to the establishment of a modern technology Taiwan with areas of excellence across 21 academic departments at three colleges (Engineering, Life and Creativity, and Management) that are home to its remarkable undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The impressive array of buildings and cutting-edge facilities offer students a complete learning environment on campus. Since its founding, CSU’s focus has remained firmly on practical knowledge of teaching to prepare students to increase their employability for careers through working closely with regional industries. Its total amount of industry-academia collaboration funds ranks the highest among private technical and vocational universities. CSU has received 15 Awards for “Outstanding Industry-Academia Collaboration Performance” from the Chinese Institute of Engineers during 1995-2024. It is among the top 30 enterprisers’ most favorite university students and ranked 2nd among Taiwan’s private technical and vocational universities in 2022. Since 2022, CSU has committed to becoming a sustainable and socially responsible university that helps address social questions. As an active contributor to local sustainability, CSU has proposed several social responsibility initiatives in collaboration with some public sectors to offer relevant insights on societal challenges, making a difference in the social and economic well-being of the neighborhood. Two initiatives have been awarded the 2023 Taiwan Sustainability Action Award for their implementations.
